After the Germans had taken the area they gathered the Jewish population in Lypovets and the surrounding area and took them to this field just west of Lypovets. Here the Jews had to dig their own graves before they were shot by German soldiers and probably also Ukrainian collaborators. After the war a small memorial was built on the site.
